Phase 1 deadline: 30 October 2026 · Businesses above AED 50 million must have an Accredited Service Provider appointed

Our Accreditation, and How to Verify It

You should not take any provider’s word for their accreditation status, including ours. The Ministry of Finance publishes the official list of Accredited Service Providers, and you can check any provider against it in under a minute.

AB Capital delivers e-invoicing through our accreditation partner, Ardentax IT Solutions - FZCO, which is listed on the Ministry of Finance register of Accredited Service Providers. Your invoices are transmitted and reported through an accredited platform. The readiness assessment, data mapping, VAT treatment and ongoing compliance work sit with our tax team.

Three questions worth asking any provider before you sign. What is your registered name on the Ministry list? Are you fully accredited, or pre-approved under final assessment? And who holds the Peppol Access Point certification in the arrangement you are being offered?

How UAE E-Invoicing Works, and What Changes for You

The UAE is moving business invoicing off paper and PDF and onto a structured digital system. From your side the change is mechanical rather than conceptual. You still issue an invoice to your customer. The difference is that the invoice is created in a defined format, exchanged over a government-approved network, and reported to the Federal Tax Authority at the same moment. Here is what that means in practice.

Structured Electronic Invoicing

A PDF emailed to a customer is not an e-invoice under the UAE rules, however digital it looks.

An e-invoice is a structured XML file following the PINT AE data standard, which is the UAE's version of the international Peppol invoice model.

It carries the same information your current invoice carries, in a form a machine can read and validate: your TRN, your customer's TRN, line items, the VAT treatment on each line, totals and currency.

Credit notes follow the same rules. Your customer still receives something readable. What travels between the two systems is the structured file.

The UAE Five Corner Model, Explained

The UAE has adopted a decentralised model, usually called the five corner model. You are corner one. Your Accredited Service Provider is corner two. Your customer's Accredited Service Provider is corner three. Your customer is corner four. The Federal Tax Authority is corner five, receiving the invoice data in parallel rather than approving it in advance.
That last point matters commercially. There is no pre-clearance queue, so a correctly formed invoice moves immediately, and a badly formed one is caught by your own provider before it ever reaches your customer.

Why You Must Appoint an Accredited Service Provider

You cannot connect to the UAE e-Invoicing System directly. Every business in scope has to issue and receive invoices through an Accredited Service Provider, a company assessed and approved by the Ministry of Finance under Ministerial Decision No. 64 of 2025. The ASP validates each invoice against the PINT AE rules, exchanges it across the Peppol network, and reports the data to the FTA. Choosing one is one of the first compliance decisions you will make, and in practice one of the stickiest, because the integration work is not something any business wants to do twice.

Why Choosing an Accredited ASP Matters

Only providers that meet the Ministry of Finance’s technical, security and data requirements are approved to act as Accredited Service Providers. Working with AB Capital as your e-invoicing service provider in the UAE means:

The e-invoicing mandate applies to businesses carrying out B2B and B2G transactions in the UAE. It is being introduced in phases, starting with larger businesses based on annual revenue, followed by all remaining businesses and government entities.

If your business issues tax invoices in the UAE, it is very likely to fall within scope. Our team can confirm exactly which phase applies to you and what your deadlines are.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) in UAE e-invoicing?

An ASP is a provider approved by the Ministry of Finance to issue, receive and validate e-invoices on behalf of businesses, and to report invoice data to the FTA. Under the UAE system, businesses must work through an ASP rather than connecting directly.

Is e-invoicing mandatory in the UAE?

Yes. E-invoicing is being made mandatory for B2B and B2G transactions in the UAE, introduced in phases based on business size, with government entities following.

When does my business need to appoint an ASP?

This depends on your annual revenue. Larger businesses are in the first phase, with smaller businesses and government entities following. Contact us and we will confirm your exact deadline.

Can I keep using my current accounting software?

In most cases, yes. We integrate our ASP platform with your existing ERP or accounting system, so your team continues working as usual while invoices are converted and sent in the required format.

Are PDF invoices still accepted?

For transactions within the scope of the mandate, PDF and paper invoices will no longer meet the requirements. Invoices must be issued in the structured electronic format and exchanged through an ASP.

What is Peppol?

Peppol is an international network and set of standards for exchanging electronic invoices securely between businesses. The UAE e-invoicing system is built on the Peppol framework.

What happens if my business does not comply?

Businesses that fail to implement e-invoicing within the required timeline may face administrative penalties. Starting early avoids last minute pressure and the risk of disruption to your invoicing.
