About the UAE e-invoicing readiness calculator

UAE businesses must issue and report their B2B and B2G invoices as structured electronic documents through the Peppol network using the PINT AE standard, instead of sending PDFs or paper. Phase 1, businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more, goes live on 1 January 2027 and must appoint an Accredited Service Provider by 30 October 2026. Phase 2, everyone below that threshold, goes live on 1 July 2027.

This free UAE e-invoicing readiness calculator turns three inputs, your rollout phase, your ERP or accounting system and your monthly invoice volume, into a readiness score out of 100. It also estimates the finance hours automation could give back to your team every month, so you can weigh the cost of preparing now against the cost of scrambling later.

Our technology partner Ardentax IT Solutions is an FTA Accredited Service Provider (ASP). Since every in-scope invoice has to pass through an ASP, that covers both sides of the mandate: the tax position and the Peppol integration your ERP will need.

B2B and B2G invoices are in scope whether or not you are VAT registered. B2C sales sit outside the mandate for now. The Phase 1 ASP deadline was extended once already, from 31 July to 30 October 2026.

What changes when the mandate starts

An invoice stops being a document

It becomes a structured XML file in the PINT AE format, readable by machines from the moment it is issued. You can still produce a PDF for a human to look at, but that PDF is no longer the invoice, and emailing one will not discharge your obligation.

Reporting happens invoice by invoice

Under the Peppol 5 corner model your Accredited Service Provider reports each document to the Federal Tax Authority as it moves. Compliance shifts from a periodic return you prepare to a live feed you have to keep clean.

Both sides of the ledger are in scope

This is not only about the invoices you issue. Supplier invoices arrive over the same network, so accounts payable needs to receive, validate and post structured documents rather than keying in PDFs.

Your ERP needs a route onto the network

SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Dynamics, Zoho, Odoo, Xero, Tally or spreadsheets, something has to turn your invoice data into PINT AE and hand it to an ASP. That integration, not the paperwork, is where the project time goes.

Errors surface in days, not at audit

A document that fails validation is rejected by the network there and then. Master data problems that have sat quietly for years, missing TRNs, mismatched tax codes, inconsistent line descriptions, tend to appear in the first week of testing.

The first real deadline is the ASP appointment

Go-live gets the attention, but the earlier date is the one to plan around. Phase 1 businesses must have an Accredited Service Provider appointed by 30 October 2026, a full two months before go-live, because integration and testing sit in that gap.

How to get ready, in four steps

Confirm which phase you are in

The test is annual revenue against the AED 50 million line. That single answer sets both of your dates, and it is the first question the readiness calculator above asks.

Find out what your system can actually do

Some ERPs already have a UAE e-invoicing module, some need a connector, and some cannot produce structured output at all. Knowing which of the three you are in changes the budget and the timeline more than anything else on this page.

Appoint an Accredited Service Provider

This is a hard deadline in its own right, not a step you can fold into go-live. Once appointed, your provider becomes your route onto the Peppol network and the party reporting your documents to the FTA.

Clean the data, test, then go live

Run real documents through the network before the mandatory date. Most of the work that emerges here is master data: trade licence details, TRNs, tax treatment on unusual line items, and customer records that were never complete.

UAE e-invoicing readiness calculator: common questions

When does e-invoicing become mandatory in the UAE?

Voluntary adoption opens on 1 July 2026. Mandatory go-live is 1 January 2027 for businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more, and 1 July 2027 for businesses below that threshold. Government entities follow on 1 October 2027. Before each go-live you must appoint an Accredited Service Provider: by 30 October 2026 for Phase 1 and by 31 March 2027 for Phase 2.

Which UAE businesses are in Phase 1 and which are in Phase 2?

Phase 1 covers businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more, who must be live by 1 January 2027. Phase 2 covers every business below AED 50 million, live by 1 July 2027. Government entities are handled separately and start on 1 October 2027. The mandate applies to B2B and B2G invoices whether or not you are VAT registered. B2C sales sit outside it for now.

Do I need an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) for UAE e-invoicing?

Yes. You cannot send invoices straight to the Federal Tax Authority. Every in-scope invoice is exchanged through an FTA Accredited Service Provider on the Peppol network, so appointing one is a compliance step in its own right with its own deadline: 30 October 2026 for Phase 1 and 31 March 2027 for Phase 2. Ardentax IT Solutions, our technology partner, is an Accredited Service Provider.

What is PINT AE and how does the Peppol 5 corner model work?

PINT AE is the national data format every UAE electronic invoice must follow, built on the Peppol International Invoice standard. The invoice travels through a 5 corner model: you send it to your Accredited Service Provider, your provider passes it to your customer's provider, and that provider delivers it to your customer, while a copy is reported to the Federal Tax Authority as the fifth corner. That reporting step is why a PDF emailed to a customer will no longer count as a compliant invoice.

What are the penalties for failing to comply with UAE e-invoicing?

The framework sets administrative penalties of AED 5,000 for each month of delay in appointing an Accredited Service Provider or implementing the system, AED 100 for every invoice or credit note that is not transmitted, capped at AED 5,000 per calendar month, and AED 1,000 for each day you fail to report a system failure or a change to your registered data.

How do I check if my business is ready for UAE e-invoicing?

Start with the UAE e-invoicing readiness calculator on this page. It scores you out of 100 from three inputs: your rollout phase, the ERP or accounting system you invoice from, and your monthly invoice volume. Systems such as SAP, Oracle NetSuite and Microsoft Dynamics score higher because they integrate with an Accredited Service Provider directly, while spreadsheet or manual invoicing scores lowest and usually needs the most work before go-live.
